The Console will allow you to renew, transfer, register, delegate and maintain your domain name, as well as allowing you to update contact details at any time. How do I create my own name servers for my domain?If you wish to create a new host name server on your domain name, like ns.yourdomain.com.au.
How do I delegate my domain name?What is propagation?Propagation is the term used when you change the name servers for your domain, and when your domain starts pointing to the new name servers. For example, if you were changing from an old hosting company to a new one, after you change the name servers for your domain, it will take some time (up to 24 hours) to see the new hosting company’s hosting – this is propagation. How do I redirect my domain name to my website?To redirect your domain name to your website, your hosting company should be able to provide you with “name servers”, which are two addresses that used to link your domain name with your hosting. If you don’t have name servers, if your hosting company has given you an IP address, or if you want to redirect your domain to free hosting space you have with your ISP, you will need to purchase a product called the Domain Manager. How do I change my domain name?Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the registration of a domain from one name to another. Domain licence's are non-transferable. If you want a new domain name, you will need to register it separately, then let your old name lapse. Transferring the Ownership of my DomainThe steps for changing the ownership of a domain name will depend on the type of domain. Please see the domain type below for more information: .au Domain Names .au Domain NamesFrom 1st June, 2008, it is possible to transfer the ownership of a .au domain name for any reason (including sale of name).When a domain is transferred, the registrant must meet the criteria set out by auDA in their Transfers (Change of registrant) Policy (2008-08). When domain ownership is transferred, the registrant forfeits the existing domain license, and a new 2 year registration license is issued. Netregistry charge a $220 administration fee to effect the transfer of ownership of a .au domain name. This includes the new 2 year registration license. To transfer the ownership of a .au domain name, please download and complete the following form,registrant name change form. Please note that a domain name cannot be transferred to a new owner within the first 6 months of registration. When domain ownership is transferred, the registrant forfeits the existing domain license, and a new 2 year registration license is issued. .com/net/org/info/biz Domain NamesThere is no charge to change the registrant (owner) of .com/net/org/info/biz Domain Names. Simply log in to The Console and you can update the registrant details under the “DomainName” link.
I registered the wrong name by accident - can I change it?Unfortunately every domain name registered requires Netregistry to pay the respective Registry a fee which is non-refundable. As such we cannot offer refunds on mistakes made during the registration process, unless a Netregistry consultant is responsible. How do I change the contact details for my domain name?Contact Details include - registrant, admin, billing and technical contact information If you wish to change the contact information for the Owner/Registrant, Admin, Billing & Technical administrator on your domain name.

Registrant Contact Handles - an explanationA NIC handle is a string (characters and letters) that maps to a database entry which contains details of a person (also known as a user) Changing NIC handles / contacts(Registrant, admin, billing & technical contact information)If you wish to change the contact information for the Owner/Registrant, Admin, Billing & Technical administrator on your domain name. Note: Whilst Netregistry offers this service, we only do so because of our obligation as a globally accredited Registrar. We do not send bills to the Billing Contact, we do not send technical emails to the Technical Contact. We do not send anything other than statutory notifications to the Registrant (or domain name owner). All information is always sent to the person listed as Current Contact for that domain name.
