PayPal

Many first-time businesses prefer to obtain a merchant account through PayPal, who offer a "no set-up fee" method of accepting major credit cards. PayPal is an online payment processing company; you may hear it referred to as “third party payment process". Their system is very easy to use and is more affordable for a company with fewer transactions. They also have an intricate tracking system, protecting both you and your clients.

PayPal's fees are calculated per transaction and are relative to the previous month's sales volume. The costs range from 2.4% + $0.30 to 1.1% + $0.30 per transaction. Netregistry does not apply any transaction fees on top of PayPals!

Please be aware that PayPal requires customers to register (free of charge) to their services before payments are sent. As PayPal acts as an intermediary between the consumer and merchant, money must be transferred into PayPal and then from PayPal into your account. This transaction is free, and smaller companies with fewer transactions appreciate this secure mediator.

Q. What preparation should I make before starting to build my site?
A. It will help to have an idea of the message you want to communicate with your website. How many pages do you think you will need ? What do you want to say on each page? You should gather all the digital imagery you think you will want to use into one folder on your computer for easy reference - for example, business logos, photos, graphics etc. If you want to use a form to collect information from your visitors, think about how this might work. It can also help to look at other websites to get ideas as to what works best.

You can make as many changes as you like to your website design, at any time - so experiment and enjoy yourself.
Q. I already have a hosting account with Netregistry - can I still use SiteBuilder?
A. Absolutely. You simply need to contact our Support department to have SiteBuilder features enabled. You should however note that due to incompatibilities in technologies, SiteBuilder is not available to be used in conjunction with PHP or ASP pages.
Q. I already have a website - can I import it into 'SiteBuilder' ?
A. No, 'SiteBuilder' can only manage sites constructed by it.
Q. The 'SiteBuilder' features I want to use is not available on the Web Hosting plan I think I will need - is it possible for me to upgrade the pack but remain on the same hosting package?
A. Currently the only option is to upgrade the Hosting plan to that containing the 'SiteBuilder' features you require.
Q. I have 'SiteBuilder' service installed, but now I want to use a custom website build - how do I disable 'SiteBuilder' ?
A. Simply contact our Support department to have the service disabled in your hosting package.
Q. Can I use SiteBuilder eCommerce pack to create an online store and take credit card payments online.
A. Yes, 'SiteBuilder' eCommerce pack will create a fully functional online-store and allow you to process credit card payments either in real-time or offline.
Q. Do I need a Merchant Account?
A. To accept credit card payments you will need a merchant account. If you wish to process real-time transactions you need Merchant eCommerce and an online merchant account with either NAB or St George banks. For offline transaction processing you need Instant Store hosting account and a Point-of-Sales (EFTPOS) terminal (available to merchant account holders only) by the bank of your choice to manually process the transactions.
Q. How much do you charge for transactions ?
A. With Netregistry, all transactions are Free! You will of course be subject to the standard transaction charges applied by your particular bank.
