Those of you that pay attention to the Google Page Rank are still waiting for another Google update. Its been almost 90 days since the last Google update and word around the web is that Google should be doing another mass update in August.
Many of you built new sites in the beginning of 2007 and still have no Google page rank after all the hard work you put into building quality back links, optimizing and adding new pages, and every other tedious detail involved with properly optimizing your site for the engines.
Well the word is that the wait is almost over. Google will be updating all its servers and handing out grades in the very near future. All the speculation about what will work and wont work for the best results in your website's placement are about to show themselves.
Once the Google page rank update starts, it will take a couple of weeks to complete so you will probably see some fluctuation in your Page Rank on different pages of your site for a while but things will settle down and your new Page Pank will be good until the next update.
Will your Google Page Rank go up or down on the next massive Google update ? Only time will tell. If you have done all the work required to rank well, then you will mostly be rewarded with a pretty reasonable Google Page Rank and the other search engine will follow right behind the master.

To my observations Google PR update only releases the PR value to the public, websites performance is generally not affected as the real page reputation fluctuates between the PR updates (I dare to say weekly if not daily with high traffic websites). Saying that magic things will happen at the update sounds like a speculation, so you may want to use terms like... may, likely, probably...etc. Also does update go for a couple of weeks? I though it was more like days. Otherwise good luck with your PageRank :-)

I currently manage the seo for 27 successful websites and have noticed my Google placement on all staying consistent in their positions as Yahoo and MSN positions continue to rise.. Google has made several updates on my back link quality and count on each site but I see little movement in the sites placement since April when the last PR update was performed. The page rank is more than just a number and if it is that irrelevant than Google has not made many other major updates on its server since April either.
