Crazy John’s Sold To Vodafone
The widow of John Ilhan of Crazy John’s
fame has sold the Crazy John’s empire to the 2nd largest mobile
corporation in Australia, Vodafone. The sale process began in February, and Ms Ilhan is
expected to receive around $75 million dollars in total from the sale. Three
short months ago Ms Ilhan said that she had intention of ever selling the
business, and was quoted saying, "There is a personal side to this -- I
want to see John's vision for the company through, as well as the financial.
But the personal is more important."
Sony Recalls Overheating Laptops
19 models of the Sony Vaio TZ series of laptop computers have been recalled due
to overheating. Models manufactured in the period between May 2007 and July
2008 have been recalled due to faulty wiring, connecting the display to the
main body of the laptop. The overheating occurs either near the power plug or
the rim of the screen, altering the shape of the computer. Owners of the faulty
models should contact Sony.
Dell Launches Netbook
Dell’s latest creation to hit the portable
computer market is the Dell Inspiron Mini 9. Aimed at people who are after a
lightweight internet access machine, the 8.9 inch LED display laptop only
weighs 1.035kg. The Mini 9 comes with Microsoft XP already installed. The
release was speculated when Dell CEO Micheal Dell was spotted with one in May.
