Q: Tell us about your new role as Dedicated Hosting Manager at NetRegistry. What's your background?

My role involves developing and implementing the dedicated hosting product range and ensuring we meet customer demands in terms of both products and pricing. Before NetRegistry, I was the co-founder of Cyberhost Pty Ltd in 1996, which serviced thousands of clients in more than 30 countries around the world. I then went on to co-found a company called Dedicated Hosting that specialised in Dedicated servers.

Q: What is Dedicated Hosting, and who should use it?

Dedicated Hosting is basically a single server dedicated to an individual customer. The customer has full and exclusive use of the server's hardrive, memory, bandwith and everything else. The server can be a Windows or Linux based platform.

There are many types of customers who require dedicated hosting solutions. These may include other web hosting companies, customers wanting to install custom software or mission critical web applications.

For larger, traffic intensive web sites dedicated hosting is a must.
