My trade is a graphic designer and I've worked for a couple of agencies in the past and magazines and decided to go out on my own. And more and more I was getting asked to do websites and I kept knocking them back saying, no no I only do print work. And in the end I thought 'This is crazy, I got to get into the websites' went off and did a few courses on it and I've gone on from there. And pretty much now 80% of my work is websites.
Well I looked at a few places to host the sites and found Netregistry and thought their prices are really competitive and they offer just as good services as some of the guys who are charging twice as much. So, I pretty much use them for everything now, if I can. I always push the client towards using them, I know their services now and I know they're reliable and trustworthy - and their uptime.. well it hasn't been down for the 2 years since I've been using them.
A lot of the clients I deal with are small business, and a lot of them are also women who have busy lives with the family and kids and running their business. So they really don't have time to look into it, a lot of them don't even care what's behind it, they just want it done. And that's what I do for them; I provide that service for them through Netregistry.
Gave her a call and said 'what's going on? why haven't you got your store going?', she said 'It's either I'm finding it too expensive or people don't know how to do it', so I said 'I've just been reading Netregistry's website and they've got this really great product called StoreXpress and I reckon I can do it'. I said 'Do you want to give me a go' and she said yeah. So she was like my guinea pig for using StoreXpress and got into it and it's working really well. The design of it is really easy to do and the orders are just you know, being an aroma therapist she's not really technically minded so all she gets is an email in her inbox and she processes the order form there. She really doesn't need to know anymore than that.
Well I'm using mailroom, and mailroom pro to send out e-marketing to clients and I'm finding that's working really well in knowing what your clients are looking for. I mean if you sent out a print flyer once it leaves your hands you have no idea how many people have opened it, what parts they've read of it or even if their interested in it. But with mailroom you can see who's opened it, when they opened it, how many people opened it and what in particular things they are clicking on - you can tailor the rest of your marketing to the responses that you're getting.
Definitely do increase sales; it's kind of like a poke in the arm to all your clients, like 'don't forget about us'. And it's a great way to give your repeat clients really good offers, everyone is after a bargain. So it's the best way to get across to people who have already visited your site and who have already bought from you - add them to your mailroom and let them know of all your updates.
