How to set up your back-ups

Netregistry staff will discuss your back-up requirements at the time you sign up with the back-up service, and will assist in configuration of the back-up platform.

How to alter your back-ups

To alter your back-up job, please email vpssupport@netregistry.com.au with the following information:

  • Your support security one off code  
  • Your server name (ie – svr1.account.vps)
  • The file path to the data you want to back up (e.g. C:\backup\, /home/user)
  • The time of day you require the back-up to be conducted and the frequency (daily, weekly, monthly)

Back-up system notifications

The back-up system will automatically generate a confirmation email upon the successful completion of each back-up, or if a failure is encountered. If you receive a failure notice, please contact our VPS Hosting Service Desk so our team can investigate. The most common reasons for back-up failure are exceeding your user quote, or server accessibility.

Restorations

Should you need to restore backed-up data, please follow the steps below:

  • Login to your back-up administration panel via http://backup.ded.netregistry.net:20617
  • Under the “Restoration” screen:
    • Select the dates in the “from” and “to” drop down boxes that contain the data you wish to restore
    • Select the files that you wish to restore from the file navigation window
    • Click the “start” button to start the restoration wizard, the follow the on-screen instructions
  • If you require assistance, please contact the VPS hosting service desk.
