The MailRoom application helps customers by providing assistance on how to create a webform.
Once logged in to your Mailroom application:
- Click Forms.
- Click Create a Website Form.
- Select the required form type and follow the prompts.
The following form types are available:
- Subscription
- Unsubscribe
- Send to Friend
- Modify Details
Note: the Form option will generate the HTML code, which may be edited in the online editor. Basic HTML knowledge is required to edit the form.
In order to get the form working, you need to copy and paste the HTML code to an application on your computer (i.e. Notepad or Microsoft Word) and save it as a HTML page.
Once this is done, upload it to your website using the Manage Webserver Files option available in the console or via FTP application.
Modify Details Form
The Modify details form must be accessed via a newsletter or autoresponder. The application has to load the contacts information and this can’t be done if the form is on your website.
For this reason, the Get Html link is greyed out for this form. You cannot copy and paste the code.
Once you have created your modify details form, edit your newsletter or autoresponder and click the Insert Custom Field link underneath the editor.
You will see a new option with the modify details form listed.
When you send out a newsletter, the link will be clickable and the contact will see their information already filled out in the form and will be able to modify their details as they need to.
