Do I need any skills in web design to use SiteBuilder?

No special skills are required at all. SiteBuilder has been designed to make the building of a web site easily achievable by anyone, regardless of their level of experience with the internet. A series of ‘wizards’ guide you through each process step by step, and help is provided on every page should you require it.

Why not try our online demo right now and see how easy it is to use.

What preparation should I make before starting to build my site?

It will help to have an idea of the message you want to communicate with your website. How many pages do you think you will need ? What do you want to say on each page? You should gather all the digital imagery you think you will want to use into one folder on your computer for easy reference – for example, business logos, photos, graphics etc. If you want to use a form to collect information from your visitors, think about how this might work. It can also help to look at other websites to get ideas as to what works best.

You can make as many changes as you like to your website design, at any time – so experiment and enjoy yourself.

I already have a hosting account with Netregistry – can I still use SiteBuilder?

Absolutely.Sitebuilder is bundled for free with all our web hosting. You should however note that due to incompatibilities in technologies, SiteBuilder is not available to be used in conjunction with PHP or ASP pages.

I already have a website – can I import it into ‘SiteBuilder’?

No, SiteBuilder can only manage sites constructed by it.

The SiteBuilder features I want to use are not available on the Web Hosting plan I think I will need – is it possible for me to upgrade the pack but remain on the same hosting package?

Currently the only option is to upgrade the hosting plan to one containing the SiteBuilder features you require.

I have the SiteBuilder service installed, but now I want to use a custom website build – how do I disable ‘SiteBuilder’?

If you’ve published your site already, you may have to delete the files that you’ve published to the server so that your new website will be clean and free from any non essetial files. If you are sure you no longer wish to use your SiteBuilder site, use FTP software to connect to the server and delete all your files. Make sure not to delete the folders titled cgi-bin, secure, and logs as these are server side folders.

Can I use SiteBuilder to create an online store and take credit card payments online.

Yes, SiteBuilder will create a fully functional online-store and allow you to process credit card payments either in real-time or offline. Please note, you may need to upgrade your version of SiteBuilder and may need to purchase a Payment Gateway to make live credit card payments.

Do I need a Merchant Account?

To accept credit card payments you will need a merchant account. If you wish to process real-time transactions you need Payment Gateway and Business Web Hosting and an online merchant account with either NAB or St George banks. For offline transaction processing you also need Business Web Hosting hosting account and a Point-of-Sales (EFTPOS) terminal (available to merchant account holders only) by the bank of your choice to manually process the transactions.

How much do you charge for transactions?

With Netregistry, all transactions are free! You will of course be subject to the standard transaction charges applied by your particular bank.

I am unable to send emails from my form created with the SiteBuilder product. The emails are not delivered and an error message does not appear. How I do to fix the problem?

Ensure that your email address (where the emails are being sent) belongs to your domain name (where the form is located).

For example:

If your website is “www.domain.com.au” the email address should be something like “enquiry@domain.com.au”. If you have an email package with Netregistry, your email account can be created via the console. View the relevant support article for steps on how to create a new POP account.
