How do I download the log files for my website?

You can download the log files directly from Netregistry servers, using FTP software, to the following address:

Host: logs.yourdomain.com
Username: FTP username
Password: FTP password

On the other hand, you can use a browser by going to the following link:

ftp://logs.yourdomain.com

** Please note, if your domain is delegated elsewhere, you can use ftp://logs.netregistry.net.

After downloading the log files, you can run them through a statistics Analyser manually such as Funnel Web Analyzer to review the logs in an easy to analyse format.

If I change statistics packages will I lose my data?

We process legacy statistics for clients, which enable them to change statistics packages (AWstats, FunnelWeb, Webalizer and Analog) without losing stats. However please note that if you are changing to or from Urchin stats, this will result in the loss of previous information/statistics gathered prior to March 2008. The reason for this is Urchin uses a different method to produce, display and analyse the stats from log files.

Once a package is changed, it will take 24 hours to propagate back processed stats, please be patient.

Can I have multiple stats packages?

Unfortunately, you will not be able to use multiple stats packages offered by Netregistry in parallel ie. at the same time. In saying this, additional third party applications can be used, depending on how it works. For example Google Analytics can be used in conjunction with one of the stats packages offered by Netregistry.

What is the best stats package?

Unfortunately, there is not a single “best” or ultimate stats package, the decision is dependent on which one meets your requirements, is aesthetically pleasing and the information you wish to extrapolate.

Do I have to pay for a stats package?

Stats packages are included with every web hosting package provided by Netregistry. However, the Urchin package requires Enterprise hosting, otherwise additional charges will apply for Economy/Business hosting customers.

How long will it take to process once installed the package has been installed?

It will take approximately 24 hours for stats packages to register and display the new information. Whilst Urchin stats can take up to 48 hours.

When are stats updated?

Stats are updated daily and will provide the information approximately 24 hours behind the current date. Urchin can take up to 48 hours to update stats as these are actioned manually.

I have lost all my previous stats data, what do I do now?

Recovering statistics data is dependent upon the situation. In the event a different package has been chosen, past information is lost. To see if your stats can be recovered, please send an enquiry to support@netregistry.com.au.
