RESOLVED: Unscheduled Outage – Apache web server on Shared hosting – 4th November 2011

Update 12:20 4th November 2011:

The outage has been resolved at 12pm, within approximately 30 minutes of commencement.

The issue was caused by the php5 process on the cluster, where all webservers were affected. Our engineer team is currently reviewing the cause of the failure of the php5 process and it’s inability to auto-restart, in order to prevent a recurrence of this problem.

Please accept our apologies meanwhile for the service availability problem.

Netregistry technical services team would like to acknowledge and advise of a current outage on the Apache web server for some of our customers.

Date and time: problem commenced at 11:40 am AEDT 4th November

Services affected: Web services only for customers on Apache web server cluster

Impact: Websites are unavailable with error “can’t establish a connection to the server”
