Update domain contact details

The registrant, admin, technical and billing contact details for any domain name registered with Netregistry can be modified from within customers Netregistry accounts.

Please note: Updating the registrant contact  for a gTLD domain (com/net/org/biz) name will change the legal owner of that domain name. Updating the registrant contact for a .au domain will not change the ownership of that domain, and will effect all other .au domains using the same NIC Handle. To change the owner/registrant of a .au domain, a registrant name change request is required.

To change the registrant contact details for a domain:

  1. Log in to your Account using the Account Reference and Password.
  2. Locate Administer/Upgrade domain along the left hand side of the page.
  3. Search for or select the domain for which you wish to change the contact details for.
  4. Click [Administer].
  5. Click Domain Name
  6. In the Contact Information section, click Modify corresponding to the contact information to be updated:
Registrant contact – primary registrant and domain owner.

Billing contact – Not generally used.
  7. Make the required changes to the contact, then click [Update].

Whois Contact Data Reminder emails

According to the Whois Data Reminder Policy (WDRP) of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), an annual reminder notice is sent to the registrant of every generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) domain name, (such as .com, .net, .biz, etc). This notice advises domain name owners to ensure their registrant contact details are correct.  Domain name registrants are required to review their Whois Data and inform the relevant registrar (for example NetRegistry) of any corrections.

If your whois contact details displayed in the email are still valid, no action is required. However, if your contact details have changed, you will need to log in to your Master Account Console and update the registrant contact details.
