Understanding Analog website statistics reportsAnalog Website Statistics is one of 3 website statistics reports available with all our Web Hosting packages. See a live exampleVisit Analog/Report Magic demo Determining the number of visitors to your websiteYou can't find out the number of visitors or visits you've had, and don't believe any program which tells you that you can. Even though our other stats packages report Unique Users, it doesn't mean the number is accurate. Distinct hosts served is the best measure. This is the number of Computers that connected with your website and includes dial-up POP servers. Because an ISP may have 100's of users connecting to each of its local POP's, Unique Users is a much bigger number than Distinct Hosts. Understanding the terminologyExample summary:
Host name Your website. Host URL Your website address. Program start time When the website logs were first analysed. Time of first request Which date the website statistics are recorded from. Time of last request When the website logs were last analysed (this is invariably the previous night). Time last 7 days lasts until When the last 7 days of website log analysis ended. Successful server requests Total number of times a webpage, image, script, style sheet or any other object on your website was requested and began downloading. Successful requests in last 7 days Total number of times a webpage, image, script, style sheet or any other object on your website was requested and began downloading in the last 7 days. Successful requests for pages Total number of times a webpage was requested and began downloading. Successful requests for pages in last 7 days Total number of times a webpage was requested and began downloading in the last 7 days. Failed requests Total number of times a webpage, image, script, style sheet or any other object on your website was requested and failed to be found, usually because that object has been deleted from the website or a webpage has been incorrectly designed and is linking to an object which is actually in a different folder on your website. Failed requests in last 7 days Total number of times a webpage, image, script, style sheet or any other object on your website was requested and failed to be found in the last 7 days. Redirected requests Total number of instances when a request for a webpage is redirected to another location. Redirected requests in last 7 days Total number of instances when a request for a webpage is redirected to another location in the last 7 days. Distinct files requested Count of the total number of objects ever requested from your website. Distinct files requested in last 7 days Count of the total number of objects ever requested from your website in the last 7 days. Distinct hosts served Total number of Computers that have connected with your website, including dial-up POP servers, ADSL servers, ISDN-connected servers. Because an ISP may have 100's of users connecting to each of its servers, this number is a subset of the number of Total Unique Users that would have connected to your website. Distinct hosts served in last 7 days Total number of Computers that have connected with your website in the last 7 days. Unwanted lines in the logfile Total number of entries in your website statistics log files that are not related to objects on your website. Total data transferred This is a highly inaccurate measure of the data transfered from your website.
