Netregistry email and web hosting clients are allocated a specific number of POP email accounts depending on the hosting plan they are on. When a POP account is created, a specific amount of space on our mail server is allocated to that account.
There are two ways to access the emails on this POP account, via third party software such as Outlook, Mail, Thunderbird etc. Which can be installed on your computer/phone or via a webmail interface.
The Netregistry webmail interface is simply online web interface to send and receive e-mail, much like Hotmail or Yahoo e-mail service. Any POP user in our system is able to access their POP mail using the WebMail system. If you wish to create a new POP email account, please follow the instructions below.
Create a new POP email account
- Log in to The Console
- Administer the domain you've purchased hosting services for.
- Click on the icon called "Email"
- Click "Create a new POP account"
- In the field "User" enter your or your employees name Please note: Full names can only be separated by a hyphen or a full stop. Example: john , john-smith or john.smith
- In the field "Password" enter your preferred password for this e-mail account. It should be something that you will be able to remember. We do not recommend to make it too easy to guess for your own security. Please note that POP account passwords must be at least 6 characters long and contain at least one digit and one letter.
- Click "Create".
You can add forwarding addresses to POP accounts. This is useful if you want to send a copy of everything you receive to another email address for backup reasons, or for monitoring of mail coming into your users email accounts.
To add a forwarding address after the POP email address is created:
- Click the email address in the list of POP accounts
- At Forwarding Addresses area, enter the address you wish to forward your email to
- Click Create
Note, the changes are effective immediately, and you will be able to test the setup straight away.
