The hypocrisy of rejecting lowering the $1000 GST exemption threshold for imported goods

The Labor Federal Government has enough issues to deal with at present, but I can’t help reflecting on the reasons given for refusing to consider lowering the $1000 GST exemption threshold.

The claim is that it would cost more to collect the tax than the revenue it raises.

Hang on a sec – doesn’t Labor’s Carbon Tax Policy do exactly that? They pay more in compensation to polluters and households than they raise in Carbon Tax revenue. So the Government’s objections are a smokescreen disguising their usual disdain for considering the needs and pressures on Australian Small Business and business in general.

Thanks – for nothing.
